Brian and Candi Kjellin


Brian and Candi Kjellin have been married for eight years and reside in Gwinn with three of the couple’s four children who keep them on their toes being involved with dance, football, softball, volleyball, basketball and cheer.
Brian graduated from Escanaba High School in 1992. After high school, Brian served in the United States Marine Corps where he was a member of the Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team. Upon being honorably discharged from the Marines in 1999, Brian attended Bay De Noc Community College and Northern Michigan University where he attended the NMU Police Academy in 2000. Brian is a Detective Sergeant with the Forsyth Township Police Department and is an Investigator for the Michigan State Police and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Marquette. Brian has worked in Afghanistan training with the Afghan National Police and recently worked with the Puerto Rico Police in the aftermath of hurricane Maria. Brian has been a volunteer firefighter for over eight years with the Forsyth Township Fire Department and is an Assistant High School Football Coach for the Gwinn Model Towners.
Candi graduated from Gwinn High School in 1991 and after high school, Candi enjoyed traveling. Candi joined the team at The Up North Lodge in 2003, where she became part of management in 2006. Candi enjoys being part of The Up North Lodge’s numerous fundraising events, raising money for several organizations throughout Marquette County. Candi coaches softball for the Gwinn minor league girls softball team and has earned her Emergency Medical Technician license where she has volunteered her time with the Forsyth Township EMS Service. Candi is currently working towards obtaining her certification as a laser technician from the National Laser Institute in Chicago Illinois.
As busy as this couple is, they can always be found wearing black and gold supporting their children’s sporting events in Gwinn. Brian and Candi are honored to be a part of the great cause and look forward to raising money for hospice.
