Why did I decide to participate?
Coming back to Dancing with Our Stars: Marquette County Style this year feels incredibly meaningful.
Having gone through the experience before, I know firsthand what it asks of you—the nerves, the time, the vulnerability, and the growth that comes with it. That’s a big part of why I chose to participate again. I wanted to be there for those stepping into it now—to be a steady presence, a shoulder to lean on, and someone who truly understands the process.
Beyond that, this event represents something much bigger than the stage. As a dedicated board member for UP Home Health & Hospice, I see the impact this organization has across the Upper Peninsula every single day. The care, compassion, and support they provide to individuals and families is something I’m incredibly proud to stand behind.
If showing up, putting in the work, and being part of this experience again helps continue that mission, then I’m all in. This is about supporting others, giving back, and being part of something that truly matters.
What does hospice mean to me?
Hospice, to me, is about dignity, compassion, and showing up for people in the moments that matter most. It’s not just care—it’s presence. It’s making sure individuals feel seen, supported, and comfortable, and that families feel held through one of the hardest seasons of their lives. It’s the kind of work that reminds you what truly matters.
Supporting hospice means supporting our community at its most vulnerable. UP Home Health & Hospice provides care that goes far beyond medicine—it’s emotional support, guidance, and comfort for both patients and their loved ones. It ensures that no one has to walk that journey alone. Being part of that, in any way, feels incredibly important to me.
